St.Grellan's Boys National School (Principal Albert Flanagan) and St.Joseph's National School (Principal Sr.Carmel of the Sisters of Mercy nuns) amalgamated in 1996. The school was then renamed as Scoil an Chroí Naofa. Situated on Society St. in the heart of Ballinasloe Scoil an Chroí Naofa caters for children aged from 4-12 from a variety of social, cultural and religious backgrounds.
The subjects taught include English, Gaeilge, Maths, Religion, S.E.S.E, S.P.H.E, Music, Drama, Physical Education, Computer Studies and French(5th & 6th Classes).
