At the start of the school year each family receives a copy of the school closures for the year. Any additional closures,
parent teacher meetings, staff meetings, tour dates etc. will be notified to you as they arise.

Attendance:
It is important that children come to school every day. If your child is absent from school a written note should be sent
to the class teacher on the first day back explaining the absence. The Education Welfare Officer monitors pupils
attendance every month and will contact families where there is a concern over attendance. Prizes are awarded to
children with excellent attendance each term.

Homework:
Children are given homework from Monday to Thursday evening and is an essential part of school life. There is a
homework club every Monday and Tuesday evening run by teachers from the school. Places are limited and application
forms are available from class teachers at the beginning of each school year.

Communication:
If a parent needs to speak to the class teacher or principal at any stage during the year a meeting can be arranged
at a suitable time by telephoning the office and making an appointment.

School Rules:
The DFL (Discipline for Learning) school rules are kept to a minimum and are devised with regard for the health,
safety and welfare of all members of the school community. If a school is to function efficiently, it is necessary that
rules and regulations are clearly stated and enforced consistently and fairly. Our policy is to reward good behaviour
and have sanctions in place for unacceptable behaviour.
