St.Grellan's Boys National School (Principal Albert Flanagan) and St.Joseph's National School (Principal Sr.Carmel of the Sisters of Mercy nuns) amalgamated in 1996. The school was then renamed as Scoil an Chroà Naofa. Situated on Society St. in the heart of Ballinasloe Scoil an Chroà Naofa caters for children aged from 4-12 from a variety of social, cultural and religious backgrounds.
The subjects taught include English, Gaeilge, Maths, Religion, S.E.S.E, S.P.H.E, Music, Drama, Physical Education, Computer Studies and French(5th & 6th Classes).

Scoil An Chroà Naofa is a parish school under the patronage of the Bishop and is committed to the development of the whole person in a Christian and caring atmosphere where each child is encouraged to achieve his/her full potential, in partnership with the Board of Management, parents and wider community. The hallmark of our vision is a particular concern and regard for those who are poor or disadvantaged.
